Pretty Pretty Alaska

The morning before the wedding, Clancy, Joanne, my Mum and I set out to see some lovely sights.  We drove toward Seward, making a few stops along the way to take pictures of the scenery.  Three years ago we went on a similar trip, however Jo wasn't with us that time, and it was much more cloudy and cold.

 Train tracks along the way

We stopped at this wonderful cafe for breakfast.
There were so many flowers out front.

Clancy's car - too funny

Ginny said she wanted to be able to say she ran along the mountainous highway.
I took a picture so she'd have proof.

This spot mildly reminded me of Glencoe in Scotland.

Kenai Lake

There are so many beautiful places in Alaska.

Teasing Clancy is very fun and easy to do!
We raised our cameras to take his photo when he raised his to take one of us!

This is an Alaskan Red Salmon

One of Clancy's very favourite spots on Earth.

I was reading about the amazing salmon.
About 4,000 eggs are hatched and through their strenuous life to adulthood
only about 2 will survive.

Tiny waterfall along the highway

Bald Eagle

Glaciers and Icebergs

Two massive glaciers
Last time we were here, we couldn't even see these two!

He's been here a billion times and it still makes him smile!

A History Lesson near The Chugach National Forest

She had to sit on Smokey's lap!

Antlers from dead things

 Huge moose

I asked him to put his face there and he didn't hesitate!

This, my friends, behind the electric fence and in front of the rainbow is a huge Grizzly Bear!

 Two Black Bears

They ate some fish and walked around; sufficient entertainment.

One of my favourite memories from this trip was walking back after looking at the Black Bears and seeing this huge Grizzly playing with a rubber ball in the water!

He was having so much fun!

 A rather large Reindeer

I took a similar picture three years ago.

We drove back into town and went to a pre-wedding barbeque at a house that belonged to one of Brandi's family members.  Everyone was very friendly and we met some good people, who would dance with us the following evening at the wedding.

Their property was amazing and included this greenhouse full of tomatoes:
green, yellow, orange and red; and basil.
I ate some good caprese salad that night for dinner!
