My laptop has sadly been on the fritz, so the blog has been neglected.
Last Saturday Daniel and I went on a seven mile walk. It wasn't planned, that just happens because we don't have a vehicle. We explored new places in the city, visited art shops, craft stores and an awesome pub called The Joynt. There we took a lunch break and were very pleased to see that they served Scrumpy cider! This is a cider from England and we rather enjoy the harsh flavor. Our server told us it was slightly strong and asked if we were driving. Ha! We only shared one. Then we walked over a new bridge in Brisbane that looks like huge ship masts sticking up into the sky. It was such a nice, lovely warm day that we sat on a bench leading up to the bridge to let the sun soak into our winter skin.
Daniel has finished his last final and we're looking forward to his much needed break. The plan is still to travel north to visit a friend and the Great Barrier Reef. Train ticket prices here are actually more expensive than flights so we're looking into our options for travel. Our landlord is currently up north and he has offered to give us a lift home, so we've got one half of the voyage covered. He also assures us that if we get up there within the next month it'll still be warm enough to swim in the ocean. [without threat of jellyfish or sharks]
Happy summer, United States!
