Welcome to 2013

Over the new year, Daniel and I were house sitting for some folks we know.  They have two big dogs and plenty of fish that were in our care.  They also have a swimming pool and we were ready to play!!

Swimming really takes it out of a guy.

After a little rest we decided to take the dogs for a walk and explore the area.  We looked around for a while trying to find leashes (leads) and ended up calling Jules to see where they were.  They actually do not have any so we hooked Dougie up with a chain and Ninja just went without one.  She runs around like crazy, and she always comes when you call her back.  

The house sits up against a marsh, much like our flat, and on the other side of that marsh is the ocean.  During the walk an unruly dog who was also not on a lead stirred up some unwanted trouble with Dougie.  Daniel had to really hold the chain so a fight would not ensue.  We ran into the same dog twice, which was bothersome because Dougie bit his own tongue snapping at the instigating beast.

Our first day there was fairly mellow.  We made dinner together and turned on the big fancy television. We watched an Australian game show and I got all the answers to the questions correct!  I have a talent for guessing!  The dogs slept on the floor in our room and we went to sleep happily thinking of swimming the next day.
